Players should build characters using the process as described in the ACKS core rulebook. All classes in both the core book and the Player’s Companion are available, and players may design custom classes using the rules in the Player’s Companion if they wish, though these classes are subject to DM approval. Players are encouraged to create multiple characters so that another character will be available if their current character dies. The following house rules apply when creating characters.
Instead of rolling ability scores, you should pick one set of scores from the following array and arrange them among your abilities as you wish.
|Total Bonus||XP Bonus*|
Note that all ability sets are balanced to provide a total of +4 in attribute bonuses, except for the last. The last gets +5 total bonuses, but because no attribute equals 16, you only get a +5% xp bonus instead of +10% xp bonus with the other sets.
*This assumes that a player is using a class with one Prime Requisite and that he or she puts the best stat in this Prime Requisite. If a class has two or more Prime Requisites, then the xp bonus will be based on the lowest stat of those Prime Requisites.
